Which audio file formats does RSS.com support?

Modified on Sun, 25 Oct at 12:47 PM

In an effort to make the file upload process easier we accept a wide variety of audio extensions including:

  • .wav
  • .mp3
  • .aac
  • .aiff
  • .m4a
  • .flac
  • .ogg

You can also upload a video file in .mp4, .mkv or .mov. Outside the Max plan, RSS.com keeps its audio and publishes an audio episode. See How to add video to your podcast episodes.

With these extensions and file types, we cover almost every audio format exported and generated by professional audio tools and voice recorders, such as mobile phones.

You can also upload an episode from your phone. The dashboard works in your phone's browser.

  1. Save the recording to your phone's files. In Voice Memos on an iPhone, share the recording and choose Save to Files.
  2. In the dashboard, tap New episode.
  3. Pick the recording from your files. An M4A file needs no conversion.
